I have photos of two grave stones in this cemetery: J. Virgil Wyatt 1919 - 1995 and Margaret E Wyatt 1823 - James M. Wyatt 6-16-1940 to 11-2-1940 In the early 1940s, a husband and Wife Wyatt ran a county store in Wayne County. The husband was crippled from a fall. He landed feet first, broke his legs and these were thrust into his body. After that, he was disabled and of shortened height. He ran the grocery part by sitting on the counter. His wife provided the remainder of the work that required mobility. Does any of this fit with your family tree?

I am looking for any information on the following families, both my great-great grandparents. I am assuming they were in or around Edwards County. Levi Moore and Mary Melrose Moore Samuel Hallam and Henrietta Vallette Hallam I know that Samuel was in the Civil War, but I am interested in his parents, siblings, etc. Henrietta is of the large Vallette family of William and Laura Williams Vallette. Mary Melrose Moore is of the William and Sarah Sabina Knodell clan. But Levi Moore is a mystery. I can't seem to find any information other than his birth and death date. Thanks, Mark Tullis

Writing in 1940 of her young days in Albion, Mrs Nellie Dalby recalled her father-in-law Samuel Dalby's band playing at the funeral of James Atkins, "a member of Mr and Mrs Macomber's family. He was the first soldier who died in the Civil War and was brought home for burial in the old cemetery." Is anyone able to confirm, add to, or dispute the details given about this soldier?
