I have found and photographed a grave site of William Mading. He is buried in the Woods National Cemetery (Military). Wood is a small suburb within the city of Milwaukee, WI. The information on the stone is: William Mading, Wisconsin, PVT, 8 CAV August 17, 1932. As I understand it, the date on this stone is the burial date, not necessarily the death date.
Can anyone supply any more information about this person like: What war did he serve in? Who was his parents? Where was he born? Was he ever married? Any children? Any photos? Land/real estate holdings? Etc.

Surnames: INSKEEP HUNT
Submitter: Cree NEWBOLD
(newbold@comcast.net)

I descend [on my mother's side] from James Edwards INSKEEP, who lived for a short time in Wayne County Illinois, and then moved to next door Wabash County where he lived until he died in 1925. His brother William Augustus INSKEEP lived in Edwards County, and I think died in 1891. They also had a sister Myrtle Ross INSKEEP, who married Lewis Elliot and lived in Wayne County. All of these INSKEEPS, James, William, and Myrtle, were born in Culpeper County Virginia to James William INSKEEP.
Here's my problem: I'm trying to figure out who Ben D. INSKEEP and William B. INKEEP are. On the 1920 Census for Illinois there is listed a Ben D. INSKEEP, age 21 and born in Illinois, married to Pearl, age 20, both listed as photographers. Ben listed his parents as born in Virginia and Illinois. He is living in Edwards County. Then there is William B. INSKEEP, age 31 and born in Illinois, whose parents are also born in Virginia and Illinois. He is living with his wife Nona, and two sons, William S. and James T., ages 7 and 19 months, respectively in Wayne County.
I am 100% sure that these are not sons of my great grandfather James E. INSKEEP. I'm 90% sure that they aren't sons of his brother William A. INSKEEP. William married Sarah T. Hunt October 19, 1882 in Edwards County. Sarah was from Illinois. So the parentage of both Ben and William of father born in Virginia and mother in Illinois fits. But if in fact William Augustus died in 1891, he could not be the father of 21 year old Ben D. INSKEEP in 1920. But unless this is a remarkable coincidence, their living in the same geographical area as James E., William A, and Myrtle R. INSKEEP would suggest that they come from the same line of INSKEEPs.
My hope is that someone reading this who is researching in Edwards County might know something about either or both Ben D. INSKEEP or William B INSKEEP that would help to connect them, or not, to my particular INSKEEP line.
Thanks. Cree Newbold
